FACILITIES MASTER PLANNING:
At Mercy Hospital, in collaboration with healthcare planners and various engineers, successfully completed a project that involved the following:

  • The statement of existing conditions & capital replacement plan
  • Determining in-patient bed needs and departmental distribution
  • Analyzing DGSF and adjacencies
  • Developing departmental block diagrams for all floors
  • Developing phasing plans and construction cost estimates

INDIVIDUAL UNIT/FACILITY EXPANSION/RENOVATION PLANS:

TLA has completed numerous studies and plans of departments, entire floors, outbuildings, and satellite facilities for expansion, re-utilization or renovation.  The project scope ranged from DGSF projections based upon total annual volume to detailed space and equipment plans for specific clinical services.

PROTOTYPICAL PRIMARY CARE OFFICE PLANS:
TLA developed a series of stock office plans for primary care practices ranging in size from one provider to eight providers.

MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDINGS

India Street Clinic (Portland City Clinic), Portland, ME
Design for the renovation of an existing space into a multi-purpose adult health clinic, utilizing the conformed layout and the existing and donated furniture, fixtures and equipment.

H.D. Goodall Wellness Center, Sanford, ME
Architectural design for the renovation of a growing practice.   The project involved the reconfiguration of existing PT and OT spaces. The design program also included four new exam rooms and a trauma/treatment room.

Yarmouth Health Center, Yarmouth, ME
Architectural design and permitting services for the construction of a freestanding 15,000 sf medical office facility.   Significant as the first and only new commercial building approved in the town village district since a moratorium was instituted 10 before.

Wellspring Health Center, Scarborough, ME
Architectural design and permitting for construction of freestanding 6,000 sf medical office for Dr. Sholl.

Harry E. Davis Clinic, Portland, ME
Conceptual design and site plan, with supporting presentation materials for a freestanding, large volume, primary care facility.

Orthopedic Center of New England, Portland, ME
Design, permitting and project management for Dr. Padavano's offices and Physical Therapy/ Fitness Center at 55 Baxter Boulevard.

55 Spring Street, Scarborough, ME
Conceptual design, site planning, and permitting for renovation of the total building to provide for an OB/GYN group practice for seven physicians.

Planning and zoning feasibility and preliminary site design for a satellite diagnostic center.

117 Auburn Street, Portland, ME
Provided architectural design services for Dr. Harwood, Dr. Carr, and two additional physicians, by renovating a building with three separate physician's practices and a medical lab (on two floors) into one unified group practice.

Feasibility studies, zoning analysis, and preliminary design to renovate a dilapidated building as a primary care facility (i.e. new floor plan, roof structure and facades).
